Smart Glasses are designed for people who are blind or visually impaired to support the navigation of their surroundings. Using ultrasonic sensors to detect obstacles in the user’s path, they provides real-time feedback to improve blind people’s journeys. With a focus on user-friendly design and comfort, the team collaborated and solicited feedback from affected communities and worked in a multi-disciplinary fashion. The creators told us, ‘By empowering blind individuals with enhanced mobility and independence, the glasses foster a more inclusive and empathetic society where everyone can participate fully in daily activities and social interactions.
