A smart dustbin that opens when it detects people nearby and separates the waste. Using an ultrasonic sensor, the bin opens without human intervention. It further uses soil moisture sensors to segregate wet and dry waste. The item responds to waste management problems in Kathmandu and uses coding, mechanical engineering and circuit design to deliver this important product for the community. This entry aims to improve local hygiene and health, improve waste management, improve accessibility, and enhance the local environment by decreasing pollution and littering.
